Segway inventor segues into restaurant venture

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, is moving ahead with plans to open a restaurant.

The Foundry is set to open in the Millyard building, which Kamen owns. The décor will be a nod to the industrial history of the mills. It is set to open in about six weeks.

The restaurant’s general manager is Nate Carney. The eatery will be housed in 12,000 square feet at 50 Commercial St. in Manchester. The building permit showed the project cost is about $800,000.
