Hannaford grocery heading to Bedford

BEDFORD, N.H. — Hannaford plans to open a supermarket in Bedford as part of its expansion plans.

It will open in a former Stop & Shop supermarket. The building, on Kilton Road, will receive a new facade, and the company will add a drive-thru pharmacy and an area to pick up to-go orders. It is expected to open next year.

Stop & Shop came to New Hampshire in about 2003 and left in 2013.
